First Impressions

1 Was the poem enjoyable? No
No, I found this poem set in the First World War boring as it was dull and repetitive show of patriotism

2 Was the poem easy to read? Yes
I found that the poem was easy to read as it used only simple words and simple language features

3 Would you recommend this poem to your peers? No
I think this poem is to bias to recommend to my peers

Personal Response: I found that this poem was written with a naive view of the honor in dying for your country.

One relevant detail from the text: "England" is the repeating point throughout this text and it is always about that from Rupert Owen's point of view there is no greater honor than dying for your country.

Another relevant detail from the text: The poem is very bias about the war. It does not enter the warzone, it does not describe to you the horrible death, you are likely to face if you seek the honor of your country.
