First Impressions

1 Was the poem enjoyable? No
No, I found this poem set in the First World War boring as it was difficult to understand

2 Was the poem easy to read? No
I found that the poem was hard to read as it used a lot of terms from the time it was written in

3 Would you recommend this poem to your peers? No
I think this poem is to bias to recommend to my peers

Personal Response: I found that this poem was incredibly descriptive of one view of the time it is set in.

One relevant detail from the text: Haunting Flares, Five Nines, Hoots, Lime. All these terms are used in the poem to give a highly descriptive and bias view into that era of time. But it is these terms that make it so hard to understand as the all refer back to World War One weapons.

Another relevant detail from the text: The poem is written from one point of view. Frankly a horrific point is the only way to phrase it. It is said to be a poem telling the times of the war. But is simply stating the horrors it cause.
